George Tovar, who combines careers in magic and theatre, will be the M.C. of The Millennium Magic Show, which will be performed April 15 and 16 to benefit Theatre West, where he has appeared frequently on stage as an actor. Tovar's parallel life as a master magician has taken him to such venues as the Magic Castle in Hollywood and Caesar's Magical Empire in Las Vegas. He has invited several of his pals and colleagues to participate in the Theatre West benefits.At least four acts will appear at each of the two scheduled performances, selected from the following magicians: Patrick Albanese, who mixes sophisticated humor with his original magic; The Arlingtons, who work in a stylish 1940s vein; Brian Gillis, known for his frequent appearances on the "Tonight" show; Doug Malloy, a leading illusionist known for his zany act; and T.C. Tahoe, winner of the Academy of Magical Arts Award.
