News April 7 Matinee of Jersey Boys Canceled Despite an eariler statement from the show's spokesperson, the April 7 matinee of the Tony-winning Jersey Boys at the August Wilson Theatre has been canceled due to the electrical fire April 6 on West 52nd Street.

A revised statement says, "The Jersey Boys producers have been notified by the authorities that it will not be possible to have a performance this afternoon. The problem should be solved this afternoon to make sure there is a performance tonight. Exchanges for today's matinee performance can be arranged at the point of purchase."

The April 6 performance of the award-winning production was also canceled due to the electrical fire, which was not connected to the theatre.

Jersey Boys premiered at the La Jolla Playhouse in October 2004 before arriving in November 2005 at Broadway's August Wilson Theatre. The Broadway production garnered four Tony Awards: for stars John Lloyd Young and Christian Hoff, lighting designer Howell Binkley and for Best Musical.
