Accompanied by pianist Ken Noda, Millo will perform music by Puccini, Verdi, Donizetti, Bellini, Handel, Brahms, Donaudy, and Mahler, as well as Neapolitan songs.
Unlike most of the marquee classical events at Carnegie, the recital is not a presentation of the hall itself. Instead, the concert is a production of Ron Delsener, the veteran rock promoter responsible for a series of huge outdoor concerts in Central Park over several decades.
According to a press release, Delsener recently saw Millo sing the title role in Tosca at the Metropolitan Opera, and became determined to present her in a solo concert. Millo, Delsener said, is the "greatest living soprano in the world right now."
Tickets are priced from $35 to $75 and are available through the Carnegie Hall box office or through www.rondelsenerpresents.com.
