Julio Bocca, a principal dancer with American Ballet Theatre, will be part of the so-called "sizzle" in Broadway's Fosse beginning Feb 15.

The Argentine native will make his Broadway debut in the role originated by Desmond Richardson. He'll dance "Percussion 4," "Cool Hand Luke" and ensemble pieces for six weeks at the Broadhurst Theatre. The revue of dances and numbers staged by Bob Fosse won the 1999 Best Musical Tony Award.

Bocca danced in Venezuela and Brazil prior to Mikhail Baryshnikov's invitation to join ABT in 1986. He has performed classic dance roles throughout the world, and is an arts legend in his country.

Richardson left the Fosse company in September 1999. Keith Roberts, who danced the lead swan in Broadway's Swan Lake last season, begins in the Fosse Richardson role Jan. 18 (to Feb. 13) and returns after Bocca's tenure. Scott Jovovich is currently dancing the role.
