News A.R.T. Will Present 2014 Robert Brustein Award to Former NEA Chairman The American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) has announced the 2014 recipient of the annual Robert Brustein Award is Rocco Landesman – a long-time Broadway theatre producer, who served as chairman of the National Endowment for the Arts from Aug. 2009 to Dec. 2012 – Oct. 27 at 4:30 PM.

The award is named after the A.R.T.'s founding artistic director, Brustein, and each year he presents the award to, "a theater artist whose work has influenced and contributed to the art and craft of live theater." Past recipients have included Oskar Eustis, Andrei Serban and David Wheeler; actors Mary Louise Parker, John Douglas Thompson and Sam Waterston, playwrights John Guare and Tony Kushner as well as Boston area actors and A.R.T. regulars Remo Airaldi, Thomas Derrah, Jeremy Geidt, Will LeBow and Karen MacDonald.

The award ceremony will take place at the Mainstage of the Loeb Drama Center (64 Brattle Street, Cambridge) and will include a conversations with Brustein, Rocco Landesman and Jared Bowman.

The event is open to the public and tickets are available at americanrepertorytheater.org.
