The play asks the central question, "Can a child molester really reform himself?"

Director William Koch helms a staging at Theatre 54 at Shetler Studios. The cast includes David Palmer Brown, Eric Goss, Mary Keefe, Nicholas Little, Joe Gioco, Leslie Sapiro and Laralu Smith.

"Convicted pedophile Ron Griffin has just been released from prison and victimized by vigilantes," according to production notes for the play. "In a meeting with his parole officer he is asked to recall his past in order to appeal his high risk level status under Megan's Law. As he describes a complicated childhood and lonely upbringing with his equally lonely, single mother and sometime prostitute, we witness the torturous step by step evolvement of a sex offender."

The play offers "a surprisingly sympathetic but unsentimental look at the emotional motivations for Ron's criminality, thereby humanizing him so that we perceive him as less of a monster than might be expected. ...It's a story of revulsion, betrayal, neglect, and, in the end, the uncertainty of human behavior, and possible salvation."

Playwright Fred Crecca is a longtime member of the Professional Playwright's Unit at The Puerto Rican Traveling Theater, where several of his plays have been produced. Crecca received a Drama League Award for his play Fast Shuffle. Designers are Lance Darcy (lights), David Jones (set) and Sandra King (costumes).
