News Artios Awards to Honor Kushner, Carsey and Chenoweth The Casting Society of America's annual Artios Awards will honor Tony and Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Tony Kushner, producer Marcy Carsey and casting director Ellen Chenoweth Nov. 1.

Held simultaneously in New York and Los Angeles, the Artios Awards recognize outstanding achievement in casting on stage and film, on the "criteria of originality, creativity and contribution of casting to the overall quality of a project."

In addition, the Artios also honor outstanding industry members within the field. The 2010 honorees include Kushner (Angels in America, Intelligent Homosexual's Guide…), who will receive the New York Apple Award; Carsey (“The Cosby Show”,” Roseanne"), who will be presented with the Career Achievement Award; and Chenoweth ("Terms of Endearment," "Good Night & Good Luck"), who will be honored with the Hoyt Bowers Award.
