Classic Arts News Arturo O'Farrill and Afro-Latin Jazz Orchestra Set Out on Tour Jazz at Lincoln Center's Afro-Latin Jazz Orchestra kicks off a six-city tour in East Lansing, Michigan, tomorrow.
The Afro-Latin Jazz Orchestra was created in 2002 as a sister ensemble to JALC's Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra. Led by pianist Arturo O'Farrill, the ALJO performs Latin jazz classics and newly commissioned works.

After the performance at Michigan State University's Wharton Center, the 18-piece band travels to Champaign, Illinois; Amherst, Massachusetts; Los Angeles; Newark, New Jersey; and Princeton, New Jersey.

The group also plans a July performance in Mount Vernon, New York, and a series of dates in August and September. Complete tour dates are below.

April 14: Bovard Auditorium, University of Southern California (with guest Claudia Acuna), Los Angeles, CA

April 23: McCarter Theatre (with guest Arturo Sandoval), Princeton, NJ
July 5: City Hall Plaza, Mount Vernon, NY
August 27: Bard College, Annandale-on Hudson, NY
September 9: Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts (w/guest Paquito D'Rivera), Cerritos, CA
September 10: Jazz on the River—Johnson's Beach (w/guest Paquito D'Rivera), Guernville, CA
September 11: Location to be announced (w/guest Paquito D'Rivera), Eugene, OR
