News As You Like It, With Gretchen Egolf and Christian Conn, Opens Jan. 27 at the Pittsburgh Public Pittsburgh Public Theater continues its season with a new production of William Shakespeare’s As You Like It, officially opening Jan. 27, following previews that began Jan. 19, at the O'Reilly Theater.

Directed by Ted Pappas, the limited engagement continues through Feb. 19.

As You Like It features Gretchen Egolf (Ring Round the Moon) as Rosalind; Christian Conn (Desire Under the Elms) as Orlando; Julia Coffey as Celia; Ross Bickell as Duke Frederick and Duke Senior; Douglas Harmsen as Touchstone; Anderson Matthews as Jaques; Noble Shropshire as Adam/Mar-Text; Theo Allyn as Phoebe; David Bielewicz as Jaques De Boys; Alex Coleman as Corin; Don DiGiulio as Dennis; Lisa Ann Goldsmith as Audrey; Daniel Krell as LeBeau and Amiens; Chris Landis as Silvius; Lindsay Smiling as Charles, William and Hymen; and David Whalen as Oliver.

In As You Like It, according to press notes, "when Rosalind is banished from the palace, she takes refuge in the Forest of Arden disguised as a boy. There she discovers a world full of colorful characters, all in riotous pursuit of happiness. With original music composed by Michael Moricz, director Ted Pappas has set his production in the Edwardian era, that short golden age at the dawn of the 20th century when social change promised to be the new fashion."

Other members of the creative team include scenic designer James Noone, costume designer Gabriel Berry, lighting designer Kirk Bookman, sound designer Zach Moore, fight director Randy Kovitz, production stage manager Ruth E. Kramer and assistant stage manager Fredric H. Orner. As You Like It is presented by PNC.
