Classic Arts News ASCAP Honors Adventurous Choruses The American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers presented its annual awards for adventurous programming by choral groups at a meeting of the industry group Chorus America in Chicago last week.
VocalEssence of Minneapolis and Volti of San Francisco won ASCAP's adult chorus awards. The Young People's Chorus of New York City won the award for youth and children's choruses.

The Pacific Chorale of Santa Ana, California, won the Alice Parker Award, presented to "the choral ensemble that expands the mission of the chorus by presenting challenging repertory to its audience in new ways." The award, named for conductor and composer Alice Parker, was created in 2003.
