The show features music by Jeff Richmond, lyrics by Nell Benjamin, and a book by Tina Fey, who makes her Broadway debut after appearing in and penning the screenplay for the 2004 comedy.

Leading the cast is Erika Henningsen (Les Misérables) as new girl in school Cady Heron (played on screen by Lindsay Lohan). Bringing the Plastics, the vicious clique Heron infiltrates, are Tony Award nominee Taylor Louderman (Kinky Boots) as queen bee Regina George, Park (Sunday in the Park with George) as Gretchen Wieners, and Kate Rockwell (Rock of Ages) as Karen Smith.
