KTC artistic director Rachel Lampert directs "the comedy of errors about an Israeli grandmother, Edna, who insists that her granddaughter, Ayelet, join her on a trip to the U.S."

Performances play July 13-31. Here's how KTC bills the play: "Edna is on a mission. Circumstances change radically, and Ayelet has to get help, but the two Americans available on a snowy Christmas Eve may not be up to the job. Can love blossom when language barriers are high, timetables inflexible and a delivery van with extremely valuable property has been hijacked? The answers will keep you laughing this summer in this wonderful new romantic comedy."

At a Loss was developed in readings, most recently in Manhattan featuring Norma Fire, who suggested the play be sent to Kitchen Theatre Company.

"There will be some wonderful discoveries and improvements in the rehearsal process at the Kitchen Theatre Company," Williams said in a statement. "The collaborative process — with the actors and the director — is the best part of writing. Making changes by yourself at home…? Not nearly as much fun."

At a Loss will feature Charlotte Cohn, Michael Kaplan, Michael Dalto and Norma Fire (KTC's Bed No Breakfast, Three Tall Women, The Book Club).

The creative team includes set designer Brendan Komala, lighting designer Joey Moro, costume designer Lisa Boquist and stage manager LaShawn Keyser.

Kitchen Theatre is at 417 W. State/Martin Luther King, Jr. Street in downtown Ithaca, NY. For tickets and information, call (607) 273-4497 or visit www.kitchentheatre.org.
