News At Santa Monica Playhouse, October Lasts Until January LOS ANGELES -- Octoberfest, which celebrates the finale of the year-long, 35th Santa Monica Playhouse Anniversary festivities, has been extended through Jan. 17, 1999.

LOS ANGELES -- Octoberfest, which celebrates the finale of the year-long, 35th Santa Monica Playhouse Anniversary festivities, has been extended through Jan. 17, 1999. Author! Author!: An Evening with Sholem Aleichem -- the longest running musical in L.A. theatre history -- will play Sat. & Sun. eves at 7.30 PM and 6.30 PM, respectively.

Playing in rep on Fridays only at 8 PM through Jan. 15, 1999 is a double bill comprising The Boor by Anton Chekhov and Ionesco's The Lesson, featuring Chris DeCarlo, Evelyn Rudie and John Waroff.

Octoberfest features pre-show refreshments and a complimentary buffet supper included in the price of admission on all nights.
