PlayBlog At the Laurie Beechman, Frankie Goes to Hollywood Director-choreographer Twyla Tharp did her tribute on Broadway — and Come Fly Away still flies at the Marquis. Now, it's Tony 'n' Tom's turn, in a Manhattan nightspot.

TelArc recording artist Tony DeSare and biographer Tom Santopietro will bring The Best Is Yet to Come, the Frank Sinatra salute that they have been touring, to the West Bank Café’s Laurie Beechman Theatre on West 42nd Street for one night only, Aug. 23.

DeSare, who has already had two CDs land in the Top Ten of the Billboard Jazz charts, will do his special take on the classic songs associated with Sinatra’s films, and Santopietro will fill in with an anecdotal commentary taken from his tome, “Sinatra in Hollywood,” which examined in depth all 61 films in his 60-year career.

Sinatra’s achievement as one of his century’s greatest recording stars overshadows his screen legacy so, says Santopietro, “This show tries to balance the books at bit.”
