News Audience Members Will Pick Actor Roles Each Night in Reconceived NY Production of Midsummer Night's Dream The Titan Theatre Company will present a new production of William Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream, in which audiences members will pick the actors' roles at each performance, beginning Oct. 18 at The Secret Theatre in Long Island City.

Artistic director Lenny Banovez and producer Kevin Beebee will present the Shakespeare comedy, which will continue through Nov. 4.

"Audiences have embraced our signature approach to the Bard, and this season we're pushing the envelope of our work even further as we bring the actor's nightmare to life with our take on the Dream," said artistic director Banovez in a statement. "We've assembled nine of New York's best classical actors who will take to the stage each night to play 16 roles and, with the exception of Puck, our Master of Ceremonies, no one will know his or her track until their names are drawn from a hat before the audience. Each show will be an entirely unexpected experience, filled with gender reversals, shock and awe, yet audiences will still be treated to the captivating, electric and visceral performances they've come to expect from us."

Directed by Banovez, the cast includes Titan Theatre company members Laura Frye and Alexis Black, as well as Sean Hudock ("Private Romeo"), Emily Trask (Twelfth Night at Folger Theater, Yale Rep, Utah Shakespeare), Matthew Foster ("House of Cards," "Law & Order: SVU"), Gregory Isaac (Chicago Shakespeare, Steppenwolf), Ryan Lee (Virginia Shakespeare, Illinois Shakespeare), Jonathon Mathew Finnegan (Actor's Theatre of Louisville) and Lloyd Mulvey (Milwaukee Rep, Utah Shakespeare).

The creative team also includes Alan Piotrowicz (lighting design), Scott Frost (costume design), Michael Selkirk (sound design), Alexis Black (fight choreography), Alexis Achilles (technical direction) and Egypt Dixon (stage management).

A Midsummer Night's Dream is produced by Titan Theatre Company managing director Beebee and the late Leonard Banovez, Sr. The Secret Theatre is located at 44-02 23rd Street in Long Island City. For more information and tickets, visit TitanTheatreCompany.com.
