Two-time Tony Award-winning producer and director Gregory Mosher has staged an American adaptation of the interactive German courtroom drama Terror for Miami New Drama at the Colony Theatre in Miami Beach, Florida.
The production, which began previews January 26, officially opens January 28. Terror features TV and film star Mía Maestro alongside Tony Award nominees Pascale Armand and Maria Tucci.
The limited run is scheduled through February 19.
The audience serves as jury to decide the nightly outcome of Ferdinand von Schirach’s drama, which has not only been translated into English, but has been adapted to reflect American laws. The storyline follows a pilot facing trial after she has shot down a hijacked commercial flight headed for a crowded stadium. Her fate is in the audience’s hands. To further the show’s interactive quality and to track the developing verdict, audiences are able to check the status of the “guilty” and “not guilty” votes at http://terror.theater as the play unfolds.
Mosher has served as producing director of New York's Circle in the Square company, artistic director of The Goodman Theatre in Chicago, and director of Lincoln Center Theater in New York. His Broadway directing credits include the original Glengarry Glen Ross, Speed-the-Plow, and the 2014 revival of Love Letters. His Broadway producing credits include the 1989 revival of Our Town and the 1988 revival of Anything Goes, both of which won Tony Awards for Best Revival.
The show has been cast with international, national, and local actors in accordance with MiND’s mission to present “world-class works by American, Latin American, and international artists designed for Miami's unique multicultural 21st century audience while also nurturing local talent.”
