News Audra, Callaway Sisters, Gravitte & Kennedy Sing on the Hudson's Edge in Westchester Benefit June 28 The mighty Hudson River won't be the only inspiring view at a June 28 benefit for Hudson Stage Company in Westchester County: Also on display will be Broadway divas Audra McDonald, Liz Callaway, Ann Hampton Callaway, Debbie Gravitte and Lauren Kennedy.

Hudson Stage Company, the professional Equity company devoted to new works, is presenting an outdoor show, Divas-on-Hudson, on the lawn of an elegant private home in Croton, NY, rain or shine. Also on hand will be Ilene Kristen of "One Life to Live" and TV actor John O'Hurley, who will play host.

Composer Jason Robert Brown will accompany Kennedy (they are both represented on a new PS Classics disc, "Songs of Jason Robert Brown"). Sue Anderson, a Broadway musical director, will musical direct the event. Piano, bass and drums will sweeten the voices of the Broadway stars. Liz Callaway is currently represented on Broadway in The Look of Love.

Tickets are $100. Proceeds go to the company, run by Dan Foster, Olivia Sklar and Denise Bessette. HSC shows are presented at the Julie Harris Theatre in Briarcliff Manor, NY. Last year saw the premiere of a revised version of the musical, True Home, written by and starring Cass Morgan (The Immigrant, Beauty and the Beast).

* The not-for-profit company produces a year-long staged reading series of original works throughout Westchester, as well as full productions. In fall 2002, HSC will produce the play, Baltimore Star, by David Weiner. The troupe is also looking to produce a production in Manhattan in spring of 2004.

The advisory Board includes Blythe Danner, Bill Pullman  Frances Sternhagen and Mercedes Ruehl.

Actors Dana Ivey, John Bedford Lloyd, Blythe Danner, Christopher Innvar, Susan Pellegrino, Daisy Eagan, Jeff Talbott and Maureen Silliman are among those who have worked with the company.  Writers include Cass Morgan, Stephen Schwartz, Jeffrey Hatcher, Suzanne Bradbeer, Romulus Linney and more.
