The center's Broadway Series will feature the national touring productions of Shrek the Musical (Oct. 4-16), Blue Man Group (Nov. 8-20), White Christmas (Dec. 13-Jan. 1, 2012), Million Dollar Quartet (April 24-May 6, 2012), Les Miserables (June 12-24, 2012) and La Cage aux Folles (July 24-Aug. 5, 2012). The Curtain Call Series will welcome Come Fly Away (Jan. 31-Feb. 5, 2012), Traces (Feb. 28-March 4, 2012) and American Idiot (May 29-June 3, 2012), and subscribers will receive bonus offers for two additional shows, Riverdance (Oct. 28-30) and Cats (Jan. 17-22, 2012). All performances will take place in Segerstrom Hall.
The Cabaret Series will feature an eclectic lineup of stage talent, including four-time Tony Award winner Audra McDonald (Oct. 15 at 8 PM, Renee and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall); Stephen Sondheim and Friends, an evening with the legendary composer featuring ASCAP's Michael Kerker and guest performances of Sondheim's songs (Oct. 29 at 8 PM, Segerstrom Hall); two-time Tony Award winner Chita Rivera (Nov. 10-13, Samueli Theater); Tony Award winner Paulo Szot (Dec. 15-18, Samueli Theater); Grammy Award winner Steve Tyrell (Jan. 5-8, 2012, Samueli Theater); and Tony Award winner Andrea Martin, with Seth Rudetsky (Feb. 16-19, 2012, Samueli Theater).
John Tartaglia's ImaginOcean, the unique black-light puppet show currently playing at New York's New World Stages, will appear at the Samueli Theater as part of the center's Discovery Series, an off-shoot of the Family Series, Feb. 4-5, 2012. The series will also feature Muckheap (Oct. 8-9); Magic School Bus (Nov. 4-5); Dream Carver (April 14-15, 2012); and Farfalle (April 28-29, 2012). All performances will take place in the Samueli Theater, except for Farfalle, which will perform in Founders Hall.
The Family Series will also offer the off-shoot Explorer Series, which will include Shopping for Shoes (Feb. 25-26, 2012), Zorro (March 17-18, 2012), and The Man Who Planted Trees (May 6 and 12, 2012). Shopping for Shoes will perform in Founders Hall; the other two shows will perform in the Samueli Theater.
