The January 25 concert is a follow-up to her sold-out 2015 appearance with the orchestra.

Six-time Tony Award winner Audra McDonald will appear as guest star with the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra January 25, following up on her sold-out concert with the group in 2015.

Andy Einhorn will be guest conductor for the concert, which will consist of “an evening of Broadway and other personal favorites” at 8 PM at the Eastman Theatre in upstate New York. A RPO spokesperson told Playbill that McDonald’s playlist includes “Gorgeous” from The Apple Tree, "Simple Little Things” from 110 in the Shade, “Vanilla Ice Cream” from She Loves Me, “Climb Ev’ry Mountain” from The Sound of Music, “I Could Have Danced All Night” from My Fair Lady, “Summertime” from The Gershwins’ Porgy and Bess, and the Gabriel Kahane specialty number “Craigslistlieder.”

In addition to her Tonys, McDonald has won two Grammy Awards, an Emmy Award, and several other accolades. Her Broadway appearances include Lady Day at Emerson's Bar and Grill, Carousel, Master Class, Ragtime, A Raisin in the Sun, and The Gershwins’ Porgy and Bess. Movie and TV roles include Madame Garderobe in the live-action Beauty and the Beast, and Mother Abbess in The Sound of Music Live!. In 2017 she was inducted into the Theatre Hall of Fame. She recently appeared in the film adaptation of the musical Hello Again.
