News Austentatious, Seen at NYMF, to Receive British Premiere at Landor Theatre Austentatious — a new musical created by emerging musical theatre writers Matt Board, Jane Caplow, Kate Galvin, Luisa Hinchliff and Joe Slabe, who began their collaboration whilst studying musical theatre at University of London's Goldsmiths College — will receive its British premiere at Clapham's Landor Theatre.

Previews will begin March 4 prior to an official opening March 6, for a run to March 28 only.

Board and Slabe have written the music and lyrics, and all five have collaborated on the book.

The show, originally developed as AmDram the Musical when it was tried out, also at the Landor, in 2005, was staged under its new title Austentatious as part of the Philadelphia Fringe Festival in 2006 and then at the New York Musical Theatre Festival in 2007. It is described in press materials as "a love letter to the theatre." In the show, stage manager Sam is stretched to breaking point during a chaotic new production of Pride and Prejudice. Will the cast learn to stop arguing? Will Mr. Darcy choose the right girl? Will those tap shoes ever come in handy?

Lotte Wakeham, who recently assisted Matthew Warchus on the Broadway-bound productions of The Norman Conquests at the Old Vic and has directed the Language of Love Shakespeare Festival at Kingston's Rose Theatre, directs a cast that includes Cassidy Janson (tick, tick. . .BOOM!, Wicked, Only the Brave) as Sam, Simon Lipkin (original London cast of Avenue Q, plus Footloose and The Wedding Singer on tour) as Blake, Richard Meek (Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, The Rocky Horror Show) as David, Fem Belling (Hairspray, Footloose) as Emily, Jenna Boyd (Les Misérables, Acorn Antiques) as Jessica, Lucy Mills (Simply Cinderella) as Lauren and Ilan Goodman (Old Vic 24 Hour Plays, All Quiet on the Western Front, The Glass Menagerie) as Dominic.

Sophie Mosberger and Chris Mundy, who were recently the set designer and musical director of the Union Theatre's production of Sweeney Todd, reprise those duties here. Lighting is by Will Reynolds and choreography by Tim Jackson. To book tickets contact the box office at 020 7737 7276 or visit www.landortheatre.co.uk.
