Author and Playbill On-Line columnist Steven Suskin will autographs copies of his newest tome, "Broadway Yearbook: 2000-2001," at two special events in June.
From 7 to 8 PM on June 3, Suskin will be part of a discussion and signing of "Broadway Yearbook" at the New York City Barnes & Noble store in the Lincoln Center Triangle. Then, on June 4 the theatre writer will take part in the Playbill Book Club evening, scheduled for 5 to 7 PM at the Drama Book Shop, which is located at 259 W. 40th Street.
Suskin's theatre annual is an informative record of the theatrical year that provides an account of every show to open on Broadway during that time, including The Full Monty, Proof, The Tale of the Allergist's Wife, Jane Eyre, Seussical and the megahit The Producers. Due in stores on June 1 from Oxford University Press, "Broadway Yearbook" sells for $19.95 (paperback) or $55 (hard back).
Author Suskin has written several books about the theatre, including "Opening Night on Broadway," "More Opening Nights on Broadway," "Show Tunes" and "Broadway Yearbook 1999-2000." His bi-weekly recordings column for Playbill On-Line is titled "On the Record." About his first edition of "Broadway Yearbook," The Connecticut Post wrote, "Suskin balances criticism with reporting in his account of each show, and the book is full of dead-on judgments of the good, the bad and the ugly."
