Television sirens and stage stars Kristen Johnston and Cynthia Nixon will host The New Group's Spring Benefit, 10 Years Off-Broadway, with special performances by Avenue Q and Hurlyburly June 13.

Celebrating the 10-year anniversary of the Off-Broadway troupe's first production (Mike Leigh's Ecstasy), the event will take place June 13 at midtown Manhattan's Copacabana. The VIP Cocktail Reception begins at 6:30 PM with an 8:30 PM dinner and 9 PM tribute, performances and live auction to follow.

The evening will honor New Group founding board member Michael Mendelson and feature an original performance by the casts of Avenue Q and Hurlyburly.

Broadway vet John Cullum — who starred in this season's Sin (A Cardinal Deposed) for The New Group — and songstress Nellie McKay (who will appear in New Group artistic director Scott Elliott's staging of The Threepenny Opera on Broadway next season) will also provide musical performances.

The New Group is currently represented on Broadway by the 2004 Tony Award-winning musical Avenue Q (which it co-presented Off-Broadway with the Vineyard Theatre) and Off-Broadway by the Presnyakov Brothers' Terrorism (a co-production with The Play Company) and the commercial transfer of David Rabe's Hurlyburly.

The company's 2004-2005 season began with Michael Murphy's Sin (A Cardinal Deposed) starring John Cullum under the direction of Carl Forsman and continued with Hurlyburly. This season also marked the debut of New Group's second production division, The New Group (naked). Tickets to 10 Years Off-Broadway at Copacabana, 560 West 34th Street, are available individually for $300-$500, a limited amount of tables can be purchased for $5,000-$20,000. For tickets contact The New Group at (212) 244-3380 ext. 314 or email Benefit@TheNewGroup.org.
