News Avenue Q Tony Nominee Will Host Inaugural Songwriters' Salon The Songwriters' Salon, a new cabaret series that will feature three to five musical theatre composers and lyricists on the first Thursday of each month, will kick off Aug. 7 at the Celebrity Club Cabaret at Times Square Arts Center.

Produced by Write Act Rep (John Lant, producing artistic director), the series is conceived and directed by Colton Pometta.

Tony Award nominee Stephanie D'Abruzzo (Avenue Q) is the special guest host of the first installment, which will begin at 7:30 PM and feature the music and lyrics of Alexander Sage Oyen, EllaRose Chary and Brandon James Gwinn, Creighton Irons, and Nadav Wiesel.

Performers include Jen Eden, Ben Fankhauser (Newsies), Melvin Brandon Logan, Julia Mattison (Godspell), Allison Jill Posner (Volleygirls), Lindsay Roginski (Chicago) and Monet Julia Sabel.

The Songwriters' Salon is described as "a casual and open playground for artists to meet and share new work."
