Austrian dramatist and novelist Arthur Schnitzler, noted for his psychological dramas of contemporary Viennese life, produces striking works in a lucid and serene style, always dealing with three recurrent themes: human relationships, injustice and prejudice, and fear of old age and death.

Miss Else follows the deceptions and traumas of a young woman who becomes part of an intriguing trap arranged by her rich and powerful relatives with whom she has been spending her holidays.

Faithful to the original script, the Brazilian version of Miss Else was the winner of the 1997 APCA Award for Best Play of the Year and Best Actress (Debora Duboc) plus the 1997 Shell Award for Best Actress (Debora Duboc).

Performances are Friday and Saturday - 9PM and Sunday - 8PM. Tickets cost R$10,00. For more information call 021 557 5533 at The Gloria Theatre in Rio de Janeiro. --By Nertutila Achao
