Directed by author Mauro Rasi, the award-winning comedy Pearl (Perola) has re-opened on March 8, 1998 at The Ginastico Theatre in Rio de Janeiro.
Pearl ran on the Sao Paulo stage throughout 1996 and 1997. It received more than 15 awards, among them the "1996 Apetesp for Best Play of the Year", "1996 Shell Award for Best Comedy of the Year", and "1996 Sharp Award for Best Actress in a Comedy" (Vera Holtz).
The comedy portrays the typical daily lifestyles of the Brazilian countryside. Leading the cast once again, Vera Holtz plays Pearl, a hilarious housewife whose universe revolves around her nauseating husband, their boring son- in- law and her gossipy sister.
The cast also includes big Brazilian stars like Sergio Mamberti, Sonia Guedes, Emilio Mello and Luciana Braga.
