Directed by SoHo Playhouse artistic director Darren Lee Cole, the limited engagement continues through Jan. 8, 2012.

The Canterbury Tales Remixed, which links today's hip-hop lyrics with classic tales, features music and turntablism by DJ and music producer Jamie Simmonds.

Here's how the show is billed: "Framed by gripping re-imaginings of the epic poems 'Gilgamesh' and 'Beowulf,' Brinkman forges a new masterpiece out of the rawest material etched onto vinyl, or carved into clay tablets. Just like the most heart-wrenching songs by Eminem or Kanye West, these ancient tales are infused with lust, betrayal, infidelity, greed, jealousy, ambition, and the endless struggles between men and women seeking happiness."

The SoHo Playhouse is located at 15 Vandam Street. For more information and tickets, call (866) 811-4111 or visit www.SoHoPlayhouse.com.
