News Baba Brinkman's The Rap Guide to Evolution to Play 45 Bleecker Canadian actor and rap artist Baba Brinkman will offer four performances of The Rap Guide to Evolution next month in Manhattan.

The acclaimed, award-winning production will be seen at 45 Bleecker (45 Bleecker Street at Lafayette Street) May 4 at 4 PM, May 6 at 4 PM, May 7 at 8 PM and May 8 at 7 PM. The Rap Guide to Evolution, according to press notes, "explores the history and current understanding of Darwin's theory, combining hilarious remixes of popular rap songs with clever lyrical storytelling that covers Natural Selection, Sexual Selection, Evolutionary Psychology, and much more. Brinkman worked directly with Dr. Mark Pallen, author of 'The Rough Guide to Evolution,' to ensure scientific and historical accuracy."

Developed with the support of the British Council, The Rap Guide to Evolution was featured in summer 2009 at the Cambridge Darwin Festival and the Edinburgh Fringe, where it won the Scotsman Fringe First Award for Best New Theatre Writing.
