News Ballard, Harris, Phipps, Jewell and Ware to Perform The Colored Museum for Crossroads George C. Wolfe's The Colored Museum will return to New Jersey's Tony-Award-winning Crossroads Theatre Company Sept. 25.

Wolfe's play, which premiered at Crossroads in 1986, will be revived as the 2008-2009 season opener. Under the direction of Rajendra Ramoon Maharaj, the production will run through Oct. 5. The cast will include Inga Ballard, Derric Harris, LaTonia Phipps, Tiffany Jewell and Timothy Ware.

The Colored Museum, according to press notes, "lampoons the myths and stereotypes of African-American culture. Traveling through a metaphorical journey in a 'museum,' several vignettes spoof cultural aspects of black culture such as slavery, hair, and Big Momma."

Additional productions on the Crossroads line-up include It Ain't Nothing But the Blues (Nov. 6-23) and Sheila's Day (April 16-May 3, 2009).

Individual tickets begin sale Sept. 1 at 10 AM. For season subscriptions and further information visit CrossRoadsTheatreCompany.
