The Broadway in the Boros series, featuring performances from the casts of Broadway musicals in various neighborhoods throughout New York City, will continue July 28 at Borough Hall Plaza in Staten Island.
The noon performance, which is free and open to the public, will spotlight the new Broadway musicals Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Bandstand.
Those scheduled to perform from Chocolate Factory include Jared Bradshaw, John Rubinstein, Ryan Sell, and Robin Masella. Laura Osnes, Corey Cott, Joe Carroll, Brandon J. Ellis, James Nathan Hopkins, Geoff Packard, and Joey Pero will offer a selection from Bandstand.
In attendance will be Staten Island Borough President James Oddo and New York City Council member Debi Rose.
The summer series will conclude July 31 in the Bronx at Williamsbridge Park Oval with a screening of Disney’s Newsies: The Broadway Musical!, preceded by special guest performers and an interactive crowd dance lesson. Scheduled to be part of the evening, which begins at 7 PM, are actors Tommy Bracco, Adam Kaplan, and Liana Hunt.
Broadway in the Boros is an initiative of the Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment to increase access to free musical performances for New Yorkers living in all five boroughs.
