News   Bang in the New Year: Stomp Appears on Live "The Tonight Show," Dec. 31
The Off-Broadway rhythm spectacle known as Stomp teams up with the Jackie Robinson "Steppers" Marching Band for a special live appearance on NBC's "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," Dec. 31.

The New Year's Eve broadcast will air live, starting at 11:35 PM (ET). Luke Cresswell and Steve McNicholas created Stomp — the show which uses everything from matchboxes, Zippo lighters and brooms to plungers, plastic bags and hubcaps. The Off-Broadway production opened in NYC in 1994.

The show has spawned five internationally touring companies, an Academy Award nominated short, an Emmy Award-winning HBO special, "Stomp Out Loud" and as well as an IMAX film called "Pulse" — which also featured the Jackie Robinson "Steppers." The latter group from Brooklyn, New York mixes hip hop, jazz, classical, rhythm & blues in a marching band presentation. They were also featured in the film "Our Song."

Tickets to Stompat New York's Orpheum Theatre, 126 Second Avenue are available by calling (212) 307-4100.
