News Barbara Cook, Liz Robertson and More to Pay Tribute to Denis Quilley in Happily Ever After Denis Quilley, the late, noted British classical actor who also made a splash in a few West End musicals, will be remembered Jan. 29 at London’s Fortune Theatre.

Hosted by his widow Stella Quilley, the evening — entitled Happily Ever After — will feature a host of musical theatre performers singing the work of Stephen Sondheim. According to the Dress Circle website, those scheduled to perform include Barbara Cook, Nigel Harman, Sally Ann Triplett, Louise Gold, Liz Robertson, Lorna Dallas, Daniel Evans and Josie Lawrence. Denis Quilley’s numerous West End credits included Long Day’s Journey Into Night, The Front Page, Privates on Parade, Candide, Money, Humble Boy, Troilus and Cressida, Sweeney Todd, La Cage aux Folles and Anything Goes. Among his film credits were “Life at the Top,” “Anne of the Thousand Days,” “The Black Windmill,” “Murder on the Orient Express,” “Privates on Parade,” “Evil Under the Sun,” “King David,” “Foreign Body” and “Mister Johnson.” Mr. Quilley died in October 2003.
