News Barbara Cook to Release Holiday CD October 7 Tony Award winner Barbara Cook will release her latest solo recording next month.

On Oct. 7 DRG Records will release "Count Your Blessings," which features Wally Harper as arranger and conductor with orchestrations by Larry Blank. Sixteen male singers from the Broadway Inspirational Singers will join Cook on four of the holiday tunes: "Count Your Blessings," "O Holy Night," "Silent Night" and "May You Always." Backed by a full orchestra on most tracks, Cook will also perform one song a cappella, "I Wonder As I Wander."

Cheered for her beautiful, crystal-clear soprano voice, Barbara Cook has starred on Broadway in Flahooley, Candide, The Gay Life, The Music Man and She Loves Me. She received a Best Featured Actress in a Musical Tony Award for her performance as Marian in The Music Man. Cook is also an internationally renowned concert artist whose numerous recordings are available on CD, including "Oscar Winners: The Lyrics of Oscar Hammerstein II," "Dorothy Fields: Close As Pages in a Book," "Live from London" and "All I Ask of You."

Cook also recently released her first concert DVD, based on her Tony nominated Broadway engagement. Available on the KOCH Vision label, Barbara Cook Mostly Sondheim — Live in Concert salutes the songs of Stephen Sondheim as well as the tunes the award-winning composer has said he wished he had created. Titles include “Send in the Clowns,” “Losing My Mind,” “You Could Drive a Person Crazy” and “Everybody Says Don’t.”
