Barbra Streisand is heading back to the New York area for two concert engagements this week. On May 4, Streisand will play the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum on Long Island, followed by a return to the Barclays Center in her native Brooklyn May 6.
The May 4 concert is her first Long Island appearance since 1963. It’s part of the inaugural month of concerts for the refurbished Coliseum. The two New York area concerts are the final stops on the tour to support her 2016 album Encore: Movie Partners Sing Broadway. It’s her 35th studio album.
No setlist has been made public. Newsday reported that Streisand will encore the setlist from her 2016 “The Music . . . The Mem’ries . . . The Magic!” tour, which included “Pure Imagination” from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, “Being Alive” from Company, and “Children Will Listen” from Into the Woods.
Streisand last played the New York area in 2016 with her concert tour, The Music…The Mem’ries…The Magic! The concert celebrated hits from each decade of her career as well as tunes from Encore: Movie Partners Sing Broadway. Released last August, the album earned a Grammy nomination as Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album.
Tickets can be ordered through Ticketmaster.
