Classic Arts News Baritone Slain in Florence Jos_ Ignacio Ventura, a member of the chorus at Florence's Teatro de Maggio Musicale, was found dead in a Florence apartment on Monday, according to the Associated Press and other wire services.
The Argentinean-born Ventura, 40, had been slashed in the throat, apparently with a kitchen knife. A young man who was present in the apartment when the police arrived was taken in for questioning; police are also seeking a third man who had apparently been present during an argument in the apartment.

Ventura appeared on a 2003 Maggio Musicale recording of Tosca as Carceriere. The CD also featured Andrea Bocelli and Fiorenza Cedolins.
