Barrington Stage Company kicks off its seventh season in Massachusetts will the Betty Comden, Adolph Green and Cy Coleman musical, On the Twentieth Century, June 20-July 14. Based on a Ben Hecht and Charles MacArthur play (which was based on a Charles Bruce Millholland play), the tuner focuses on a theatre producer trying to revive his failing career by signing a movie star for his next show. So, he hops on the luxury train called the Twentieth Century Limited, where she is aboard and the comedy is takes off.

Artistic director Julianne Boyd helms the season opener with a cast that features Dennis Parlato, Kim Crosby, Joy Franz, Peter Kapetan, John Dewar, Chris Yates, James Corrothers, Larry Daggett, Laura Dysarzyk, Laurie Ferdman, Eric Hayden, Christa Justus, Brian Morey, Katie Mussler, John Vandertholen and Matt Witten.

The creative team includes Sarah Lambert (sets), Fabio Toblini (costumes), Jeff Croiter (lights), Sunil Rajan (sound). The production also features choreography by Tony Parise.

Barrington will then continue its season with Tennessee Williams' Suddenly Last Summer July 18-Aug. 4 and in an odd turn, a play that was submitted to BSC anonymously with a note stating the playwright attended their production of Suzanne Bradbeer's Full Bloom, enjoyed it and would be honored for BSC to premiere the show. Ciao! by Anonymous plays Aug. 8-25.
