News Barrington's Black Comedy Begins Limited Run July 19 The Barrington Stage Company, located in Pittsfield, MA, presents a limited engagement of Peter Shaffer's Black Comedy beginning July 19.

Lou Jacob directs the production at the Barrington Stage, which features the talents of Brian Avers as Brindsley Miller, Nell Mooney as Carol Melkett, Beth Dixon as Miss Furnival, Gerry Bamman as Colonel Melkett, Mark H. Dold as Harold Gorringe, Gordon Stanley as Schuppanzigh and Ginifer King as Clea. Opening night is July 22 at 5 PM; the production is currently scheduled to run through Aug. 4.

"In Black Comedy," press notes read, "disaster strikes when aspiring artist Brindsley Miller tries to impress his fiance's father while desperately and hilariously dealing with a power failure and the ensuing confusion among his invited — and uninvited — guests."

The design team comprises Adrian Jones (sets), Ilona Somogyi (costumes), Scott Pinkney (lighting) and Daniel A. Little (sound).

Show times are Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 7 PM, Thursdays through Saturdays at 8 PM, Fridays at 2 PM and Sundays at 5 PM.
