Directed by artistic director Julianne Boyd, the production will continue through Aug. 29.
Joining Mazzie onstage are Christopher Innvar as Stanley, Kim Stauffer as Stella and Kevin Carolan as Mitch with Emily Taplin Boyd (Nurse), Miles Hutton Jacoby (Young Collector), John Juback (Steve), Jeffrey Kent (Doctor), Chavez Ravine (Mexican Woman/Blues Singer), Jennifer Regan (Eunice) and Thom Rivera (Pablo).
"Set against the steamy backdrop of New Orleans' gritty French Quarter," press notes state, "Williams' drama tells the story Blanche DuBois, a faded Southern belle, driven to madness by her brutish brother-in-law, Stanley Kowalski."
The creative team comprises Brian Prather (sets), Scott Pinkney (lights), Elizabeth Flauto (costumes) and Brad Berridge (sound). Renee Lutz is production stage manager.
Mazzie is a three-time Tony Award nominee for her performances in Kiss Me, Kate; Ragtime; and Passion. Her other theatrical credits include Into the Woods, Big River, The World Goes 'Round, the City Center Encores! productions of Kismet and Out of this World and Off-Broadway's The Trojan Women: A love Story, where she met husband Jason Danieley. Mazzie also starred in the London production of Kiss Me, Kate, where she earned an Olivier Award nomination for her work. She was also seen in the Actors' Fund of America's concert staging of On the Twentieth Century, and she recently completed runs in both the New York and London companies of Spamalot. Innvar has appeared on Broadway in 110 in the Shade, The Threepenny Opera, Les Misérables and Victor/Victoria. His Off-Broadway credits include Floyd Collins, Gun-Shy and A New Brain. Innvar has also performed in regional theatres throughout the country, including the Shakespeare Theatre, Barrington Stage, Steppenwolf, Alliance Theatre, Paper Mill Playhouse, Guthrie Theatre and Long Wharf Theatre.
Show times are Tuesday and Wednesday at 7 PM and Thursday-Saturday at 8 PM with Wednesday and Friday matinees at 2 PM and Sunday at 5 PM.
