Barry Levinson and Billy Crystal will come together to work on a new film titled Revival, according to Deadline. The comedy will be centered around a washed-up Broadway composer, to be played by Crystal.
Revival will be written by Phil Primason, and will be co-produced by Crystal and Levinson.
Tony winner Crystal, who is familiar with the world of Broadway, will play a once-legendary Broadway composer whose career, after a messy, public divorce, goes downhill. To make ends meet and keep his only companion—his dog—alive, he is forced to compose corny jingles.
Deadline reports that the project has not yet been set up with a major studio.
Levinson and Crystal were executive producers on the films Analyze This and Analyze That, in which Crystal starred with Robert De Niro.
