News B.D. Wong to Be Honored at Marriage Equality New York Gala Tony Award-winning actor B.D. Wong will be among the honorees at Marriage Equality New York's 12th Annual Gala April 28 at Slate.

Other honorees will include New York State Senator Jose Peralta; members of the grass roots advocacy group Queer Rising; and Shannon Minter of the National Center for Lesbian Rights, who was the lead attorney in the legal fight against Proposition 8, the anti-gay marriage bill passed in California in the 2008 elections.

Wong received a Tony Award for M. Butterfly, playing a Chinese man who disguises himself as a woman and has a love affair with a French politician. Additional credits include Herringbone, Pacific Overtures, Face Value, You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown, and long runs on television in "Law and Order: SVU" and "Oz." Also a GLAAD Award winner, Wong is described in press notes as "a longtime leader in fighting for human rights, and [a] fearless advocate for LGBT equality, adoption rights and marriage equality for all people."
