The evenings at the Barclay Theatre, which is located on the campus of the University of California, Irvine, boast the talents of Jonelle Allen (singing "Blame It On the Summer Night" from Rags), Shoshana Bean (singing "Bless The Lord" from Godspell and "Defying Gravity" from Wicked), Terron Brooks (singing "Lost in the Wilderness" from Children of Eden and "All Good Gifts" from Godspell), Eric Kunze (singing "Corner of the Sky" from Pippin, "God Save the People" from Godspell and "In Whatever Time We Have" from Children of Eden), Lindsay Mendez (singing "Spark of Creation" from Children of Eden and "Meadowlark" from The Baker's Wife), Marissa Perry (singing "It's An Art" from Working and "Popular" from Wicked), Cathy Rigby (singing "Chanson" from The Baker's Wife) and Rex Smith (singing "Fathers and Sons" from Working and "Dancing Through Life" from Wicked). The concerts also include solo and production numbers featuring 40 young performers from The California Conservatory of the Arts and The McCoy-Rigby Dance Academy.

Proceeds from Defying Gravity, which is presented by special arrangement with composer-lyricist Schwartz, benefit the educational programs at The California Conservatory of the Arts, "a comprehensive training ground for aspiring young artists, specifically musical theatre." Schwartz will be the guest of honor at the Jan. 24 performance.

Tickets, priced $15-$35, are available by visiting thebarclay.org or tickemaster.com. For more information go to www.ccarts.net.
