“Acting: The First Six Lessons” is an adaptation of Richard Boleslavsky’s 1933 novel, which tells the story of an acting teacher who teaches a young girl the craft of acting along with important life lessons. This adaptation, according to press notes, "spans 10 scenes progressing from the teacher’s studio, to stage, to filming in Central park, leading to the pinnacle climax at the Empire State building." After adapting Boleslavsky’s novel, both Beau Bridges and his daughter Emily performed the play at Theatre West in Los Angeles in spring 2010.
Beau Bridges was seen on Broadway in Who's Who in Hell and Where's Daddy? and most recently played Sally Field’s love interest in a multi-episode arc on “Brothers & Sisters.” Emily Bridges recently starred as Lucy Seward in the Off-Broadway production of Dracula.
