News Beautiful Soup Theater Collective to Present World Premiere of Little Wars The world premiere workshop production of Little Wars, by Steven Carl McCasland, will begin performances April 23 at the Roy Arias Stage II Theatre, presented by Beautiful Soup Theater Collective.

The workshop runs through April 27.

Directed by Thia Stephan, Little Wars will feature Maggie Wirth as Gertrude Stein, Kimberly Faye Greenberg (Lift, One Night With Fanny Brice) as Lillian Hellman and Dorothy Weems as Dorothy Parker. Additional casting and creatives will be announced at a later date.

"In this imagined meeting of the minds, Gertrude Stein and Alice B. Toklas have invited playwright Lillian Hellman, satirist Dorothy Parker and novelist Agatha Christie to their country home in France on a cold March night in 1939," press notes state. "Tensions are high, the booze is flowing and Europe is on the brink of war. When a mysterious woman arrives and prompts their questions, the curious writers expose more of themselves than they've ever put on the page."

McCasland's writing credits include neat & tidy and a Parisian adaptation of Alice in Wonderland.

Beautiful Soup is best known for reviving lost or oft-forgotten works, but occasionally presents workshops of new plays and musicals. Visit beautifulsouptheatercollective.org for more information.
