The 25th anniversary re-release of Disney’s acclaimed animated musical Beauty and the Beast will give fans a teaser of the upcoming live-action film starring Emma Watson.

When Disney’s 25th Anniversary edition of Beauty and the Beast is released on Blu-ray, DVD and Digital HD formats, it will give fans their first glimpse into the world of the live-action film that will arrive in theatres in 2017.

The animated re-release will arrive on Digital HD and Disney Movies Anywhere September 6, with DVD and Blu-ray to follow September 20.

In addition to a look at initial rehearsals for the upcoming live-action film of Beauty and the Beast, the release will include bonus features, including composer Alan Menken, who is joined for a sing-along at the piano by Stephen Schwartz (The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Pocahontas, Wicked), Kristen Anderson-Lopez (Frozen, Gigantic), Robert Lopez (Frozen, Gigantic) and Lin-Manuel Miranda (Hamilton, Moana). Also featured is a look back at the original animated film with Paige O’Hara, the voice of Belle.

Jack Morrissey, one of the producers of the live-action film, shared this first glimpse of Lumiere and Cogsworth from the featurette:


The live-action Beauty and the Beast will arrive in theatres March 17, 2017. The cast includes Emma Watson (Belle), Ian McKellen (Cogsworth), Audra McDonald (Garderobe), Emma Thompson (Mrs. Potts), Josh Gad (Le Fou), Ewan McGregor (Lumiere), Kevin Kline (Maurice), Stanley Tucci (Cadenza) and Gugu Mbatha-Raw (Plumette). Downton Abbey star Dan Stevens plays the Beast, with Luke Evans (The Hobbit, Dracula: Untold) as Gaston.
