News Bedlam's Hamlet and Saint Joan Will Be Performed in Repertory at Lynn Redgrave Theatre Two tragic historical stories will be presented in repertory when the Bedlam productions of William Shakespeare's Hamlet and George Bernard Shaw's Saint Joan are presented at the Lynn Redgrave Theatre.

Saint Joan begins performances Nov. 8, prior to an official opening Nov. 14. Hamlet begins performances Nov. 15 before officially opening Nov. 19.

Directed by Eric Tucker, the cast includes Tucker, Ted Lewis, Tom O'Keefe and Andrus Nichols.

"Played in repertory and with four actors, Hamlet and Saint Joan are boldly theatrical, stripped down, immersive productions of classic plays," press notes state.

Here's how Hamlet is billed:

"In this quintessential Shakespearean drama, Hamlet's halting pursuit of revenge for his father's death unfolds in a series of highly charged confrontations that climax in tragedy." "Saint Joan is based on the life and trial of Joan of Arc," press notes state. "Fascinated by the story of Joan of Arc (canonized in 1920), George Bernard Shaw presents a realistic portrayal of Joan: proud, intolerant, naïve, foolhardy, always brave-a rebel who challenged the conventions and values of her day."

John McDermott will design sets for the productions, and the rest of the design team will be announced at a later date.

Tickets go on sale to the general public beginning Sept. 8. and will be available by (866) 811-4111, visiting theatrebedlam.org or cultureproject.org or visiting the Lynn Redgrave Theatre box office (45 Bleecker St., New York, NY 10012).
