Continuing its radio theatre series, California Artists Radio Theatre will present Letters And Other Beguiling Things, a compilation of personal writings of historical figures. Created by Sean McClory, the piece draws on letters, diaries and journals from such notables as Teddy Roosevelt, Ludwig Von Beethoven, Dorothy Parker and George Bernard Shaw.
Starring in the reading are Shelley Long, of TV's "Cheers" and filmdom's Irreconcilable Differences, and Rene Auberjonois (Metamorphosis, City Of Angels), alongside William Windom and Bairbre Dowling.
The radio broadcast will be recorded in front of an audience Oct. 11-12 at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel's Cinegrill, Hollywood, CA, for future broadcast on KPFK, 90.7 FM, Sundays at 10 PM. Peggy Webber produces and directs the piece for EMC/California Artists Radio Theatre Productions. Due later this season are Little Women, Pygmalion and Heartbreak House.
