Eugene Stickland's A Guide to Mourning has extended its run at Canada's Belfry Theatre, running an extra week, through May 9. Previews began April 13 for an opening April 15.

A Guide to Mourning features comedy veteran Heath Lamberts, who has been in entertainment for more than 30 years. Lamberts created the role of Cogsworth in Disney's Beauty and the Beast on Broadway. Lamberts also played King Septimus opposite Sarah Jessica Parker in Once Upon a Mattress.

Stickland is a recognized Canadian writer and author of such other plays as Sitting on Paradise and No Assembly Required.

Directed by Roy Surette, Mourning's story delves into a family's pain and vow to do right at their father's funeral. Among the attendees, an enthusiastic clergyman, played by Lamberts. Also featured in the cast are Dean Paul Gibson, Paul Shears, Kelt Eccleston, Lynda Raino and Naomi Snieckus.

A Guide to Mourning recently had a reading at New York's Manhattan Class Company. The company is looking to bring it to New York soon, though no dates have been confirmed. A Guide to Mourning tickets are $12-$24 and available by calling (250) 385-6815.
