News Belle and O'Toole Cast in "Mary, Mother of Christ"; Pacino and Lange Being Sought Academy Award-winning actors Al Pacino and Jessica Lange may star in the new biblical film "Mary, Mother of Christ," which is aiming for a 2010 release.

Variety reports that Aloe Entertainment has cast Camilla Belle ("10,000 B.C.") in the title role of "Mary, Mother of Christ." The film has also secured veteran actor Peter O'Toole to portray Symeon and Jonathan Rhys Meyers in the dual roles of Gabriel and Lucifer. Pacino and Lange are reportedly being sought for the roles of Herod and Anna the Prophetess, respectively. The film, which will depict Mary's life from a young woman through the birth of Jesus and into her later years, is being penned by "Passion of the Christ" writer Benedict Fitzgerald and Barbara Nicolosi.

Alejandro Agresti ("The Lake House") is signed to direct the film, which will begin shooting in Morocco in May. The in-theatre release is aiming to coincide with Good Friday on April 2, 2010.
