The Tony winner was recently named one of Entertainment Weekly's Entertainers of the Year.
Ben Platt, recently named one of Entertainment Weekly's 15 Entertainers of the Year, spoke with EW about the most memorable moments during his year on Broadway in the Tony-winning Dear Evan Hansen. In the video above the actor says there were five people he wanted to see his performance in the Tony-winning musical at the Music Box Theatre. Beyoncé was one. Hillary Clinton was another. Watch the interview (beginning at the 1:05 mark) to see who the other three were.
Tony winner Platt—who earned raves for his emotional, riveting performance as Evan Hansen, the sensitive high school student caught at the center of a story that spirals out of control—also received The Drama League's Distinguished Performance Award, which is awarded to one artist a year and can only be won once in a lifetime. Platt is the youngest actor to have ever won the award.
