Ben Platt has added another screen project to his post-Dear Evan Hansen plate: writer-director Ricky Tollman’s Run This Town.

According to Deadline, Platt will play a journalist tracking a political scandal. Joining him are Damian Lewis (recently on the London stage in The Goat, or Who Is Sylvia?) as a volatile politician and Mena Massoud (star of Disney’s upcoming live-action Aladdin) and Nina Dobrev (The Vampire Diaries) as his political aides.

Platt, who earned a Tony Award last year for his performance in Dear Evan Hansen, is also set to appear in the Ryan Murphy Netflix series The Politician and the upcoming film Love and Oatmeal. After departing the Pasek and Paul musical in November, he signed a contract with Atlantic Records for his forthcoming debut album.
