Cabaret & Concert News Ben Vereen Brings Concert Tour to West Coast The Tony-winning star of Pippin and Jesus Christ Superstar will play San Diego and Los Angeles next week.

Ben Vereen, the Tony-winning entertainer known for his starring roles in Broadway’s Pippin and Jesus Christ Superstar, will play a series of West Coast concerts this month with his nightclub act Steppin’ Out With Ben Vereen.

The song-and-dance star takes audiences through his life and career, from his Brooklyn beginnings and his Tony-winning turn as Pippin’s Leading Player, through his screen performances in All That Jazz, Sweet Charity, and Funny Lady, to his Broadway return as The Wizard in Wicked. Vereen performs new interpretations of such songs as “Defying Gravity,” “Mr. Bojangles,” “Magic To Do,” and “Life Is Just A Bowl of Cherries” in the act that has played to acclaim across the country.
